  • 1 Mount Lofty Summit & Lookout – Panoramic views over Adelaide, the plains and coastline. Accessible by car or on foot via Waterfall Gully trail. Great sunrise/sunset spot.

        2    Mount Lofty Botanic Garden – 97 hectares of cool-climate gardens, fern gullies and autumn colour. Ideal for picnics, walks and photography.

        3    Cleland Wildlife Park – Get close to native animals including koalas, kangaroos and emus. Family-friendly and easy to access from Mount Lofty.

        4    Hahndorf Historic Village – Australia’s oldest surviving German settlement, full of cafes, bakeries, boutique shops and galleries. Perfect for a relaxed stroll and lunch stop.

        5    Wineries & Cideries – Sample cool-climate wines and ciders at cellar doors such as Shaw + Smith, The Lane, Nepenthe, Ashton Hills, Sidewood, or The Hills Cider Company.

        6    Local Produce & Markets – Visit the Adelaide Hills Farmers Market (Stirling, Saturdays) or artisan producers such as Udder Delights (cheese) and Melba’s Chocolate Factory.

        7    Fruit Picking & Farm Gates – Pick-your-own fruit at Beerenberg Farm (strawberries), Harrisville Orchard (cherries) or Lenswood Apples (seasonal). Great family activity.

        8    Walking Trails – Try the Waterfall Gully–Mount Lofty Hike for a challenge, or the shorter Mount Lofty Botanic Garden Loop. For longer walks, explore the Yurrebilla Trail.

        9    Cycling Paths – The Amy Gillett Bikeway runs between Oakbank and Mount Torrens along a former rail line – gentle gradients and beautiful scenery.

        10    Scenic Drives & Lookouts – Drive through Piccadilly Valley, Lenswood and Summertown for vineyard views; stop at Gorge Scenic Drive for photo spots.

        11    Dining & Views – Enjoy a meal with a view at The Lane Vineyard Restaurant, Summit Café, Mt Lofty House, Sidewood Estate or Bridgewater Mill. Bookings recommended.

        12    Local Pubs & Breweries – Try the Uraidla Hotel, Crafers Hotel or Prancing Pony Brewery for great meals and craft beer.

        13    Art & Culture – Visit Hahndorf Academy or the Hans Heysen – Cedars Studio for local art and history.

        14    Seasonal Events – Check for the Hahndorf Christmas Village, Stirling Laneways Market, or Winter Reds Festival (July).

        15    Day Spas & Wellness – Unwind at Mount Lofty House Spa, Longview Vineyard Glamping Tents or Sticky Rice Villas for a luxury retreat.

    • Early strawberries, mulberries, loquats, cherry onset, fig blossoms, wild apples/roadside fruit

    Early Summer (Dec-Jan)

    • Cherries (pick-your-own), strawberries still, wild blackberries, early figs

    Mid to late Summer (Jan-Feb)

    • Figs, apricots/plums (some), apples begin in higher altitude, wild nuts still early

    Autumn (Mar-May)

    • Apples (pick-your-own), pears, late figs, wild nuts (chestnuts, walnuts), wild blackberries, grapes

    Winter (June-Aug)

    Nuts (hazelnuts, walnuts, chestnuts) in some places, citrus begins (though less in Hills), planning for spring
